The Electrical Contractors' Association (ECA) is the UK's largest and leading trade
association representing electrical, electronic, installation engineering and building
services companies. They work closely with government and key national bodies
to improve industry standards and procedures.

Elecsa
ELECSA provides inspection, assessment and certification services to contractors
working with electrical installations in private dwellings.
ELECSA is authorised by Communities and Local Government to deliver a competent
persons scheme to enable contractors to self certify domestic electrical work under
Part P of the building regulations.
Since January 2005 it has been a requirement that electrical installation work
undertaken in domestic dwellings must follow the new, Part P Building Regulations
(Electrical Safety in Dwellings).

Gas Safe
Gas Safe makes sure all 120,000 gas engineers on the register are gas safe and
qualified to work with gas.
Gas Safe Register is the official gas registration body for the United Kingdom, Isle of
Man and Guernsey appointed by the relevant Health & Safety Authority for each area.
Gas Safe Register replaced CORGI as the gas registration body in Great Britain on 1
April 2009.

Trustmark
TrustMark is a database which only shows reliable, trustworthy tradesmen. In order
to carry the TrustMark logo, companies have to be checked and approved by the
scheme operators.

Buy with Confidence
In response to concerns about 'rogue traders' which are often highlighted in the
media, a partnership of Local Authority Trading Standards Services have taken a
ground-breaking step by putting together the Buy With Confidence Scheme. Datel
Electrical Ltd has undergone a series of detailed checks before being approved as
a member of the scheme.
